Outsourcing: Blog Comments-Online Maarketing
A comment is the biggest award I can receive when I write a post. I also like critical comments because they challenge you and make you see other perspectives. Sometimes the comments are at the limit because they attack us or third parties.
How can we react to these comments?
With the first comments on our blog comes a bit of pride (at least it has been the case in my case) of having contributed something that has created value for readers. Over time we see that not all comments are positive. The question now is how we react when we are attacked , criticized or rumors created about outsiders who cannot defend themselves directly. Here are my tips for moderating blog comments:
Positive Comments :
Be humble when your readers take the time to comment. The least you can do is say thank you .
Query Comments :
I try to answer all comments. Although I cannot treat everything in detail, I try to respond with some ideas and recommendations .
Contradictory comments :
Take advantage of these comments to spark a conversation . You can be wrong with things you are saying. Admit and correct it if it is the case.
Comments that criticize and attack you :
My personal policy is publication. So far no one has insulted me. I post the comment but do not respond to unjustified criticism. If the criticism is justified, I take advantage of the situation to present my point of view.
Trolls teasing comments:
I usually post most of the comments. I wouldn't respond to this guy so as not to give the trolls more encouragement .
Comments that insult and provoke you :
As I said so far I have not received any insulting comments (everything will come). I wouldn't post them because it seems disrespectful to me and it's not how two adults should communicate.
Third Party Feedback - My advice is not to leave a comment that creates a rumor about someone else with no response. Although we do not have the answer, it is good to point out that it is a rumor or that what you have commented remains to be verified.
Self-promotional comments :
I publish all the comments that add value by promoting the blog itself. I delete the comments like "Good post, here is the link to my website."

It's that social aspect that makes blogs such a powerful component of the social web.
People like to feel involved. Leaving blog comments allows readers to
join in on the conversation about a topic that interests them.
The Value of Blog Comments to BloggersBlog comments are the lifeblood of a blog. Comments are what separates a blog from a static website. As the conversation builds, so will your relationship with your readers and so will your blog's popularity. Encourage your readers to join in the discussion and leave comments and respond promptly to the comments left by your readers to make them feel valued. Just as you don't like to be ignored when you address someone in person, you don't want to ignore your readers when they address you through a blog comment.
The Effects of Blog Comments Beyond the Blog Conversation
An interesting aspect of blog comments is the fact that people who leave comments on your blog can also leave links to other blogs or websites or their own blogs to further the conversation.

These links can be a great resource to help you find new blogs to read, like-minded bloggers, and new post ideas. Additionally, bloggers can leave tracebacks
on your blog through blog comments when they link to your blog posts on
their blogs. Trackbacks are another great way to help you build
relationships with other bloggers as well as to drive new traffic to
your blog from the links on those other blogs.
